About the Levi Rodgers Scholarship
The Levi Rodgers Scholarship by VA Loan Network provides financial support and educational opportunities to Veterans and their families who are committed to furthering their academic and career goals. Established to honor the contributions and sacrifices of our Military community, this quarterly scholarship offers a $500 award to assist with educational expenses.
Since its inception, VA Loan Network has been dedicated to giving back to those who’ve served, and the Levi Rodgers Scholarship is an extension of this mission, empowering Veterans and their families to achieve their educational dreams.
Scholarship Timeline
The Levi Rodgers Scholarship is awarded quarterly. All applications are due by 11:59 PM U.S. Central Time on the final day of each window. Applicants are notified within 10–15 days of the deadline, and awards are disbursed after enrollment verification.
2026 Application and Award Dates (Updated January 2026)
- Spring Application Period: March 1 – March 31, 2026 | Notification/Award: by April 15, 2026
- Summer Application Period: June 1 – June 30, 2026 | Notification/Award: by July 15, 2026
- Fall Application Period: August 15 – September 15, 2026 | Notification/Award: by October 1, 2026
- Winter Application Period: December 1 – December 31, 2026 | Notification/Award: by January 15, 2027
Deadlines falling on a weekend or U.S. federal holiday move to the next business day. One application per person per cycle. Prior recipients may reapply in a new cycle.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Levi Rodgers Scholarship, applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A U.S. Veteran with a 100% service-connected disability.
- A surviving spouse or child of a servicemember who passed away due to service-related causes.
Additional Requirements
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, graduate, post-graduate, or doctoral degree.
- Submit a typed essay (500–1000 words) describing how Military service or loss has shaped your life and educational goals.
- Demonstrate financial need through FAFSA or equivalent documentation.
- Be comfortable sharing your personal story and educational goals with VA Loan Network.
- Be able to provide the following within three (3) business days upon request:
- Military documentation (DD214 and death certificate or DD1300 for survivors)
- Official VA disability rating letter (if applicable)
- FAFSA submission documentation
- Proof of enrollment at an accredited educational institution
- Government-issued photo identification
- Willing to provide receipts or invoices for eligible educational expenses including tuition, required textbooks, mandatory school fees, and limited room and board as determined by VA Loan Network.
- Candidates may be subject to a background check.

Quality, clarity, and authenticity of a 500–1000 word essay explaining how Military service or the loss of a spouse or parent has impacted your life, your goals, and how this scholarship will support your academic plans.
Demonstrated Financial Need
Verified through FAFSA documentation and any additional financial information provided.
Additional Considerations
Community involvement, volunteer work, academic or athletic achievements, leadership, and other accomplishments may be considered. Applicants may submit optional supplemental materials relevant to their story.
Award Disbursement & Compliance
- Each quarterly award is $500. Awards are paid to the student or institution in accordance with VA Loan Network policy.
- Enrollment verification is required prior to disbursement.
- Funds must be used for qualified educational expenses. Documentation may be requested.
- VA Loan Network reserves the right to verify information and rescind awards if eligibility cannot be confirmed.
